Silverlight Classic 15 Puzzle

Wednesday, January 13, 2010
Silverlight Classic 15 Puzzle

Some have spent many an hour solving the simple thumb slider puzzle,
sometimes referred to as the '15 Puzzle.'

"Invented" by Noyes Palmer Chapman in 1874, many variations have
made their way into the minds of those that love puzzles.

Bored with the static sliding image, a more challenging variant was
needed. To demonstrate the power of Microsoft's new Silverlight
technology, I have an animated version displaying live video.

Silverlight is a Internet Explorer browser plugin. A simple one-time download from Microsoft is all that is required to start many hours of enjoyment, this new technology will bring. The puzzle itself will then render inside the browser, with no need to fool around with an install of software. Quick, clean and off you go.

Although the video can be a bit of a visual overload at first, it does inspire one to solve the puzzle, just to view the video, unscrambled.

Careful, this is addictive. Enjoy . . .
